Sunset on Walker Bay

Hermanus is 100km from Cape Town on the Eastern seaboard. It is an hour's drive from Cape Town International Airport on the N2 highway.

Walker Bay is elliptical in shape. It stretches from beyond the village of Hermanus in the South West to the Eastern tip at Danger Point, scene of the famous sinking of the Birkenhead. The Western side of the bay is framed by mountains, which rise higher as one shifts one's gaze to the northern shores. There the Maanskyn range rise several thousand feet. Below, seventeen kilometers of sparkling white beaches unfold and curve round the North Western part of the bay - giving way at last to the rocks of Die Kelders (The Caves).
